Bogard Construction completed the Santa Lucia Event Barn Renovation, enhancing the property’s existing event facilities while preserving the rustic character and structural integrity of the original barn. The project included new building additions and interior improvements to accommodate commercial kitchen facilities, as well as guest room upgrades and mechanical system renovations to the adjacent Ranch House.
Given the complexity of integrating modern amenities into an aging structure, the project required extensive cost and value analysis to align design ambitions with the owner’s budget. Bogard’s preconstruction and project management teams worked collaboratively with the architect and owner to evaluate materials, construction methods, and sequencing strategies to maximize value without compromising quality.
A meticulous structural assessment and reinforcement plan were implemented to maintain the integrity of the historic barn framing and envelope, ensuring the building’s long-term performance while supporting new programmatic uses. The result is a refined and functional event facility that blends modern comfort with traditional craftsmanship in the heart of Carmel Valley.
