Bogard Construction, Inc. broke ground in October 2002 on a new office / laboratory for Continental Sales Company (CSC). CSC President and CEO, Mr. D. K. Kim, was joined by two generations of Bogard's for a groundbreaking ceremony. Those present (and pictured) include Mr. D.K. Kim, Vic Bogard Jr., Brad Bogard, Jim Bogard, Chip Bogaard, and Jared Bogaard.

CSC's new building is a 55,000 sf, 3-story structural steel building, with production facilities on the first floor, office / storage space on the second floor and the third floor will be available for lease or future tenant improvements. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2003.

Bogard Construction and CSC Group have a long standing relationship dating back to the 1970's when Bogard Construction first worked with Mr. Kim to build the two office and laboratory buildings in which CSC currently resides on Dubois St., in Santa Cruz.

CSC is ranked 5th in the nation in eyeglass manufacturing and, along with their new facilities, plan to obtain an even higher ranking in the future. "This facility will allow increased production capacity as well as include one of the most contemporary automated and computer-driven operations found in the world," responds an excited Mr. Kim, when asked about his new building.

The new facility for CSC has been in the design phase for the past several years, and now, with the assistance of Bogard Construction, Mr. Kim is closer to seeing his hard work come to fruition.
