Bogard Construction built both the Seymour Marine Discovery Center and the Center for Ocean Health for the University of California. This educational and research facility required the use of corrosion-resistant construction materials, compliance with ocean-front restrictions required by the california coastal commission, and involved special considerations for the preservation of sensitive ecological habitats. Construction challenges included installing a direct sea water filtration system for the aquaria and laying extensive exposed sea water piping.
