Since becoming their primary contractor in 1983, Bogard Construction has completed numerous projects for Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital, including the renovation of the Acute Rehabilitation Facilities, Telemetry Care Unit, MRI Facility, Emergency and Prompt Care Unit, Mental Health Facility, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The MRI room pictured below, built for a magnet weighing 6-1/2 tons, required a special steel-free foundation, and a fully copper-shielded room. The magnet has 30,000 times as much pull as the earth's magnetic field. Special precautions were required when working near it.
