Bogard Construction built both the Seymour Marine Discovery Center and the Center for Ocean Health for the UC Regents. This educational and research facility required the use of corrosion-resistant construction materials, compliance with ocean-front restrictions required by the California Coastal Commission, and involved intricate construction and design approaches for the preservation of sensitive ecological habitats. Construction challenges included the installation of a direct sea water filtration system for the aquaria and laying of extensive exposed sea water supply piping.
